Dr. Stephen Gardner

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is the practice of using manual muscle-strength testing for medical diagnosis and determination of prescribed therapy. It was pioneered by Dr. George Goodheart who, in 1964, made the observation that muscles would respond negatively or positively to various factors.

The body's nervous system is an electrical network or grid. The nerves conduct electrical impulses to and from all parts of the body, including the muscles. This electrical system is sensitive and responsive. Anything that does not maintain or enhance your body's health and balance causes the circuits to overload or short-circuit, and the muscles will be unable to hold their strength when physical pressure is applied. If the system is being affected in a way that does maintain and enhance health and balance, the circuits remain strong and the muscles will resist physical pressure.
